Three suspects between the ages of 30 and 50 were arrested this morning shortly after an armed robbery. A local businessman and his employee were robbed in front of the bank in High street. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. The owner gave chase with his vehicle. During the chase the suspects fired shots at the owner who returned fire with his private licenced firearm. SAPS and the local security company were alerted and also gave chase. The suspects drove their vehicle into a yard tried to flee through a fence and were apprehended. Detectives and experts are still at the scene searching for evidence. An undisclosed amount of cash was recovered. All suspects are in custody. A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
