ZAMDELA - The Sasolburg POP Platoon 02 arrested a 32-year-old suspect for discharging a firearm in a municipal area. On Saturday, 09 August 2025, at about 06:45, a police Constable heading to work heard several gunshots and observed an unknown African male running towards a silver BMW with a Gauteng Province registration firing several shots.

The member called for backup, and the suspect was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Although the suspect's firearm license was valid, he was arrested and detained for discharging a firearm in a municipal area.

The firearm was seized, and nobody was injured. The suspect is expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of discharging a firearm in a municipal area.
