NAMAHADI - The police arrested a suspect on charges of murder after he allegedly beat his friend to death with an iron rod. It is alleged that on Monday, 1 August 2022 at about 11:00, officers were summoned to a complaint of murder at Maboshwane Village in Qwaqwa. They went into the house where the body of the man was lying on the floor. He was later identified as Sipho Mosia. It is further alleged that the two friends arrived home in the morning at about 05:00 from a social event and, they both sat near the coal stove whilst drinking beers. The two got into an argument and ended up fighting. The suspect hit the victim with an iron rod on the head. The suspect was later arrested at Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate court, whilst attending another matter where he is an accused.
He is expected to appear again before the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate court on Wednesday, 3 August 2022 facing a charge of murder.
