Media Statement from Kwazulu-Natal Media Centre Yesterday, 16 April 2015, crime prevention members from Helpmekaar SAPS arrested one female suspect aged 84 for possession of 65,25kg dagga. Police raided the suspect’s homestead in Stone Hill Farm after the suspect granted the SAPS permission to search her rondavel. Police found six bags filled with dagga to the street value of over R65 000. The suspect was informed about the charge against her, she was arrested and taken to Helpmekaar SAPS. The suspect will appear in Dundee court today, 17 April 2015. The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the police for their good work. “We will ensure that dagga is swept out of our community and those who are found in possession of dagga will be placed behind bars,” she said. -End- Major Thulani Zwane 071 683 6525
