KING WILLIAM’S TOWN - Three (3) suspects aged between 17 and 18 were arrested for attempted murder, housebreaking, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of suspected stolen property, yesterday 11 May 2015 at about 12:55.

It is alleged that the suspects approached a farm worker at De Rust farm and a quarrel ensued between them. One of the suspects shot the farm worker in the face and neck. The suspects then proceeded to the farmer’s house and broke the door. They took some items of furniture and loaded it on the farmer’s bakkie.

Immediately after the case was reported, the police started their investigation which led them to Arcadia farm where they found the suspects still driving the farmer’s vehicle. The suspects were arrested and three loaded firearms and property recovered. The firearms were positively identified as stolen firearms in separate Aberdeen cases during April this year.

The suspects will appear in the Aberdeen Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 14 May 2015. They are still in police custody.
