Potchefstroom: The management of police in the North West commended the police in Mmakau for their dedication that resulted in a hefty sentence handed down to Solomon Solly Motseki (39) for rape and murder.

This is after the North Gauteng High Court sitting in Ga-rankuwa sentenced Motseki to two life jail terms on Thursday, 14 April 2016.  He was also sentenced to ten years imprisonment for kidnapping and house breaking.  The court heard that the accused broke into a house, kidnapped a 7-year-old old minor to his place, where he raped and killed her. The incident occurred on 22 December 2014, at Seloseha Section in Mmakau village near Ga-rankuwa.

The full might of the law caught up with the accused when the police in Mmakau with the assistance of their counterparts in Soshanguve, arrested him few weeks after the incident.

The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane applauded the team that ensured that a hefty sentence is secured.  She said that the conviction will give a clear indication that the police will leave no stone unturned to ensure that justice is served and that merciless criminals remain behind bar where they belong.
