CENTANE - The Amathole Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu welcomed the sentencing of Khayalethu Nikisi aged 47 by the Centane Regional Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 30 August 2022. The man was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the rape of a 10 year old girl.

It is alleged that on the 24 April 2016 the victim was at her home during the night when she was taken outside by her mother's boyfriend and raped her at the bushes not far from home.

Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) investigated the case and the accused was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
