Lwandle police launch manhunt following a murder incident

Lwandle detectives launched a manhunt for a suspect who shot and killed a 42-year-old man on Thursday, 25 August 2022 at about 19:30 at Vulindlela Road opposite Lwandle hostel at the barbecue stands. 

The victim, who hails from Khayelitsha, was with his three friends when an unknown suspect shot him multiple times to the head and upper body. He succumbed to his wounds. A 39- year-old female bystander, was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.  

Information collected on the scene confirmed that the gunman only shot the deceased and not any of his friends.  Circumstances around the case are still under investigation by the Lwandle police detectives. The motive for the killing is yet to be established.
