Office of the Provincial Commissioner Gauteng

GAUTENG - The District Management has noted the social media post complaint of people being turned away at SAPS Eldorado Park to go make copies of affidavits at their own cost. It should be noted that every police station is provided with the necessary tools of trade to carry out their duties. This includes IT equipment such as photocopying machines which the station management must verify they are always in good working condition to ensure service delivery is not hampered.

An internal disciplinary investigation will be instituted at district level against those responsible for ensuring that there is sufficient stationery at the police station.

The district management is further calling on all the people who were sent back without assistance and those who were made to pay for their copies of affidavits to come forth and to register formal complaints against the police.

Alternatively those affected may send their complaints to the provincial Inspectorate component which is responsible for investigating complaints against the police as per below:

The public is encouraged to report any service complaints against the SAPS:

*082 442 2000 Gauteng Complaints Standby Number

*082 759 2590 WhatsApp

*GP.ServiceComplaints@saps.gov.za

*MySAPS Application which can be downloaded on any smartphone.
