DURBAN - On 10 July 2021, the suspect Jermaine Tyson Sethialall advertised a bakkie that he was selling on social media. An interested person contacted him and transferred R179 000-00 into the account that was given to him.

After the sale, the two men went their separate ways and a few days after the transaction the new owner proceeded to transfer the vehicle onto his name. He was informed that the logbook is fake and the vehicle belonged to a lady that was struggling to pay her instalments. The bank was planning to repossess the vehicle. A case of fraud was opened at Bellair SAPS and the investigation revealed that the suspects is wanted for similar cases in Durban, Verulam and Port Shepstone.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Jermaine Tyson Sathialall (28). His current whereabouts are unknown.

We appeal to anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted suspect attached in the picture to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Pillay on 0794832820 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App.
