Media Statement KARIEGA – Uitenhage detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal collision between an unknown pedestrian and a truck on the R75, outside Kariega. It is alleged that the pedestrian was standing in the road (R75, about 20km outside Kariega) when he was hit by a truck at about 05:15 on Tuesday, 06 September 2022. The driver of the truck stopped at the accident scene and notified SAPS. The unknown male (in his fifties) was clad in a pair of black jeans, black shoes, blue cap and a black jacket. Police are appealing to anyone who might be missing a relative, who can assist with the identification of the deceased or tracing his next-of-kin, are requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Deon Roos on 079 896 8148, SAPS Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
