GAUTENG – The Johannesburg Regional Court sentenced Pule Letoane aged 36 to 15 years imprisonment for murder and attempted murder on 31 May 2021. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The accused stabbed two male victims at Delvers Close, a dilapidated Flat at corner Delvers and Cornelius Street on the 26 October 2019 at 04:00. Both victims were taken to hospital and one later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The deceased was stabbed several times in the upper body.

The accused was apprehended by members of the community and assaulted before police came to his rescue at Von Weiligh Street.

The good conviction is a result of the diligent work by the investigating officer of Johannesburg Central detectives Warrant Officer Macubani. We hope this sentence will scare away would-be offenders from committing the same crime.
