Centre 06 April 2014 POLOKWANE -The police in Mankweng have on Thursday afternoon arrested three men shortly after they allegedly hijacked a truck full of cigarettes at gun point at Ga-Kgole Section of Ga-Mamabolo. Police were responding to a complaint when they spotted a quantum which matched the description of the getaway vehicle parked at a yard along the R71 road at Viking Village. The brave police entered the yard and found R105 000 worth of cigarettes in the possession of four suspects and the trio were arrested on the spot. The fourth suspect is still on the run and the police are hot on his heels. Members of the community with information about the whereabouts of this wanted suspect are urged to contact the Investigating Officer Colonel Maloma on 082 565 8524 or the Mankweng police on 015 286 6200. Community members are also warned not to try and arrest the suspects as he is believed to be armed. The arrested suspects, aged between 33 and 40, will appear before the Mankweng Magistrates' Court on Monday, facing charges of hijacking, armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. -End- Media Enquiries: Brigadier
