DURBAN - On 16 September 2022 at 13:00, Umbilo police were performing stop and search duties in Bulwer Road when they spotted a vehicle with three men. The vehicle was intercepted and the occupants were searched. They were found in possession of two pistols and 16 rounds of ammunition. A knife was also found in possession of one suspect.

Police proceeded to the suspects’ residence where they recovered a SAPS reflective jacket, masks, number plates and private two way radios. The suspects will be profiled to determine if they were involved in other crimes.

The suspects who are aged between 28 and 34 were arrested for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition as well as possession of a dangerous weapon. They will appear before Durban Magistrate’s Court on 19 September 2022.
