Police in Limpopo intensifies radio crime awareness campaigns

GIYANI - The SAPS in Giyani through the communication officer Constable Ridgewell Rikhotso a crime awareness campaign at Giyani Community Radio on, Monday 03 October 2022.

The campaign was conducted during the show called GCR talk presented by Mhlengwe wale Babangu between 14:00 and 15:00.

The focus was on the prevention of spiking incidents along the N1 south. Motorists were advised to be careful of spikes or objects that are placed on the road to cause damage on the wheels of the vehicle and that will force the driver to stop. When the vehicle stops, criminals will emerge from the bushes and rob the driver and passengers of their belongings.

Motorists were further advised to drive in clusters, should they experience any punctures, they must not stop immediately but drive little further and contact the police.

The other topics discussed include:

  • Public violence
  • Court updates
  • Missing persona
  • Stock theft
  • Mob justice.

As the programme concluded, contact numbers of the District Commissioner, Station Commissioner and Community Service Centre (CSC) were shared with the listeners.
