Media Statement WESTERN CAPE - The Western Cape SAPS continues to recognise and celebrate career progression within its ranks, following ceremonies held earlier this week to promote commissioned and non-commissioned officers across the province. During two separate ceremonies, the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen (Adv.) T.E. Patekile, conferred new ranks on 17 members in George, comprising promotions to the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel (4), Captain (8) and Warrant Officer (5). At the provincial headquarters, Deputy Provincial Commissioners Maj Gen P.L. Voskuil and Maj Gen L. Damoyi, together with the Provincial Head of Legal Services, Maj Gen M.E.L. Jojo, presided over the promotion of a further 39 Warrant Officers. In addition, two Colonels, two Lieutenant Colonels and five Captains, who were promoted in the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Limpopo, also received their new ranks today. The newly promoted members were congratulated on their achievements and encouraged to lead by example, embrace their added responsibilities, and serve the communities of the Western Cape with professionalism, discipline and commitment.
