Media Statement NELSPRUIT - Members from Middelburg Flying Squad unit, Tracking Company, and Belfast Police arrested two suspects for possession of suspected stolen property on 29 January 2026 at about 16:00 The Police members received information about a stolen truck with a Mozambican registration number, which was robbed from the owner at Elsburg in Gauteng The said truck was spotted at a certain address at Bhekimuzi Masango Drive in Belfast. Information was followed and address was visited and two males were found and Police approached them and introduced themselves as police officers and asked permission to search which was granted, after that Police asked who was the owner of the truck as they were busy with mechanics, their reply was it belongs to them as they were business associates. The said truck was tested and it came out positive as sought on the above mentioned place also the owner of the truck positively identified it , unfortunately the truck was stripped of some parts . The suspects were placed under arrest for possession of stolen property (Truck) and Contravening the immigration Act. Their country of origin is Malawi and Zimbabwe. Eight (8) tyres and other stripped parts (Exhibit) were booked in. Further there were more motor vehicles which were found on the said yard and they were tested and one Blue vehicle with Mpumalanga registration number was tested with a Vin number and came sought for theft in Berea, Gauteng reported stolen in 1993 was booked for enquiry . Both suspects will appear at Belfast Magistrate's Court on Monday, 02 February 2026, for possession of suspected stolen property and vehicle. Ends
