The Saps Provincial Commissioner Lt Gen Nneke Jim Ledwaba has welcomed the lengthy jail term given to a serial criminal.

The Provincial Commissioner has commended the female investigating officer, Detective Sergt Kwena Shilajwe, attached to the Polokwane FCS Unit, for the job well done.

Frank Makgoka Thoka aged 30, who was staying at three different places being: Solomondale, Extention 17 near Westernburg and Lithuli Park, was this week sentenced to a total of 238 years imprisonment for 36 counts of violent crimes which are rape, robbery with aggravating circumstances and sexual assault.

The accused has committed these offences between the years 2008 and 2014 until he was arrested on the 2016-01-24 and remained in custody without bail.

His was terrorising members of the community especially young girls and women aged between 14 and 48. The rapes were committed between the hours 08:00 in the morning and 23:00 at night.

His modus operandi was as follows:

He was targeting young girls who were coming from school, threatening them with a firearm or knife, dragged them to nearby bushes where raped and robbed them.

He will enter the house and pretended to be a job seeker where he will attack the domestic workers, raped and robbed them from a variety of items.

He will enter houses through the opened door while a woman is busy with routine work inside and he will raped and robbed them from a variety of items.

The accused was targeting Polokwane and Westernburg areas which are:
·        Mahlasedi Park
·        Nivana
·        Emdo Park
·        Greenside
·        Lesedi Park
·        Westernburg Bridge

The sentence will serve as a deterrent to all the rapists, the arm of the law is too long and you will also follow Frank Makgoka Thoka to jail unless you stop or refrain from these senseless acts.
