Media Statement KIMBERLEY - Members of Kimberley Flying Squad conducted disruptive crime prevention operation dubbed "Operation Vala Konke" in Postmasburg and put suspects behind bars for various crimes. On Monday 24 October 2022 eight suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from dealing in drugs, possession of dangerous weapons. During the operation, three suspects were put behind bars after they were found in possession of drugs on their premises. The total combined value of drugs confiscated from all three suspects is estimated to street value of more than R10 000-00. Drugs confiscated includes crystal meth and mandrax tablets. The suspects were also found in possession of cash believed to be the proceeds of drug dealings. Four suspects were arrested and charged for being in possession of dangerous weapon. The suspects were arrested during stop and searches. The team conducted vehicle check points on the N14 and R31. Fines to the value of R3 900-00 were issued to motorists for violation of the road traffic act. The suspects are expected to appear in the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 25 October 2022 on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of dangerous weapons respectively. Ends
