GQEBERHA - A 28-year-old New Brighton man is in police custody following the alleged murder of his elderly father yesterday afternoon, 31 October 2022 in Dubula Street.

It is alleged that at about 12:45 police were informed that Mpumelelo Sizani (71) was fatally stabbed by his son after a quarrel between them. The suspect lived with his father. The elderly Sizani sustained three stab wounds in his chest.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and is detained on a charge of murder.

He is expected to appear in the New Brighton magistrate court soon.
