WESTERN CAPE - Members of the Rural Flying Squad conducted a vehicle check point on the Prince Albert Road this morning, Tuesday, 07 October 2025, when the stopped a luxury bus and searched it. The members found a brown bag containing five parcels dagga, weighing approximately 10,768 kilograms. The estimated value of the dagga is R110 000. They arrested an adult male for dealing in dagga.

The suspect is due to appear in the Prince Albert Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

In an unrelated intervention, members of Operation Shanela II, conducted stop and search operations in Normandi Street, Eerste River, when they received information about a person who is selling dagga. They found the person fitting the description and found nine parcels dagga in his possession. The 38-year-old male was arrested was arrested for dealing in dagga.

Furthermore, members of Operation Shanela II deployed in Mfuleni arrested a 31-year-old female who they found in possession of 77 small packets containing dagga and a undisclosed amount of cash. she was arrested for dealing in dagga.

The suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
