In a well planned joint operation between other government departments, 16 illegal immigrants were arrested on farms in the Plooysburg area. Police together with the Department of Home Affairs, Social Development and Labour started their operation by visiting farms from about 06:00 this morning. All arrested immigrants are from Lesotho. They were charged in terms of the Immigration Act and the 16 (8 men and 8 women) are expected to appear in court soon. They are detained at SAPS Kimberley.
