TSEKI - The South African Police Service rescue and diving team working hand in hand with Maluti-a-Phofung Fire Department brought to closure family's worries with regard to body of their missing boy (10) from Matebeleng Village after disappearing into the river on Thursday, 15 December 2022 at 20:50 when he tried to cross over the Kgopjane river to Makong village. On Friday, 16 December 2022 at approximately 12:45 police rescue team and and fire fighters officials were informed of missing boy and they started searching at adjacent Mphokojane river only to find that they crossed Kgopjane river as related by the friends he walked with on the day. Later the team went to Kgopjane river of Bolata Village where the boys crossed and found the body of missing boy trapped inside between trees branches.
It's alleged the boys were from Matebeleng Village, headed to Makong Village, when the tragedy happen. An inquest docket has been registered for further investigation.
