NELSPRUIT - A 29-year-old male suspect has been arrested after being found in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of approximately R450 000 The arrest took place this morning, Wednesday, 30 July 2025, at around 06:25 on the R570 Jeppes Reef Road in Agriwane, near Malelane.

According to police reports, officers were conducting a routine stop-and-search operation when they stopped a Volkswagen Polo with registration plates from the Kingdom of Eswatini. Upon searching the vehicle, members discovered 36 rolls of compressed dagga, weighing approximately 74.6 kilograms.

The suspect was immediately arrested and is expected to appear before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Tonga, on Thursday, 31 July 2025.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, applauded the members for their vigilance and commitment in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
