Detectives at SAPS Madeira are searching for suspects who robbed a shop in York Street in Mthatha and fatally wounded a security guard yesterday afternoon, 14/08.

It is alleged that at about 14:00, they confronted the security guard at the entrance and pointed him with firearms. They also demanded for his firearm and when he resisted, he was shot and killed.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The 47-year-old security guard died on the scene.

A case of business robbery and murder is under investigation.
