Constable Mafokoane later succumbed to his Injuries in hospital.  One suspect was arrested at the scene after he was shot and Injured. He has since died in hospital.

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lt General Lesetja Mothiba said we are grateful for the community members who phoned us and gave information immediately after the two incidents.  Our detectives followed up several leads and some of them were positive while others did not yield any positive results, he said.

This break- through could not have materialised without the assistance and the partnership the SAPS have with various communities. Police investigations are continuing and Saps will ensure that all suspects involved in police killings are brought to book.
