CAPE TOWN - On Friday morning, 10 February 2023, at around 03:30, Steenberg Police members responded to a complaint at a premises in Straus Avenue, Steenberg. As they advanced towards the location, they noticed a vehicle parked on the pavement with two suspicious looking occupants inside. They approached the vehicle and asked the two suspects, aged 32 and 23, to step out of the vehicle in order to allow them to conduct a search. The members found a firearm with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition under the driver’s seat. Both suspects were arrested and detained at Steenberg SAPS for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Once charged, they will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s court.
