Police in Tshwane District apprehend a suspect linked to a spate of business breakings and robberies around Pretoria Moot

GAUTENG - Police in Tshwane District arrested a 47-year-old suspect in Pretoria Moot on Wednesday, 01 March 2023 following a spate of business burglaries and robberies in the area.

According to a preliminary report a team comprising of members from Gauteng Highway Patrol, SAPS Pretoria Moot, SAPS Eersterust as well as local security officers operationalised information on suspects who specifically targeted businesses which are selling inverters, solar panels and batteries.

The team swiftly responded to a business burglary in progress and a highspeed chase ensued while the suspects threw inverters, batteries and tools out of their vehicle's window along the way.

The said vehicle was intercepted and the suspects alighted where after they tried to flee but the police apprehended one suspect while the other two managed to evade arrest.

Police recovered lithium batteries, inverters and breaking implements.
