Media Statement POLOKWANE - Three male suspects aged between 35 and 48 were arrested after they were caught transporting suspected stolen goats and sheep near the Nyl plaza in Mokopane policing area on Friday, 17 March 2023. One motor vehicle with a trailer was seized. The three suspects were driving in an Isuzu bakkie from Musina heading to Gauteng province when their vehicle was stopped during a roadblock as well as stop and search Operations conducted by police officers from the Provincial Office under the stewardship of Colonel Willy Mapaya. Police in the process managed to recover a total of 56 goats, three sheep and also confiscated the vehicle used to transport the livestock, an Isuzu bakkie. The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the members for their vigilance which led to arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen livestock. The three suspects are expected to appear in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court on Monday, 20 March 2023 facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen livestock. The recovered livestock is impounded in Mokopane. Police call upon anyone whose goats and or sheep have gone missing to contact the Police in Mokopane or the Stock Theft Unit standby number 082 450 1588. Ends
