WESTERN CAPE - Police members attached to Operation Shanela 2 deployed in the gang ridden areas proved that proper deployments result in successes when they detained a suspect for dealing in liquor without a license.

The members deployed in Mfuleni on Thursday, 26 June 2025, conducted stop and search operations when they pursued information about an alcohol outlet in close proximity to them. They approached the address and tactically entered the residence and confiscated a consignment of alcohol. The man who was present could not provide a valid license to sell liquor. They detained the 23 year old man for dealing in liquor.

Once charged the suspect is expected to make a court appearance in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charge.
