FREE STATE - The Welkom police are looking for a man who is believed to be able to help them with an investigation into the murder of his wife and baby. 

On Sunday, 16 April 2023, at about 12:15, the neighbour in Katanga discovered the bodies of a woman and her baby. The bodies were identified by next of kin as those of Ratiso Dhlengwayo (22) and her child, Progress Mhofu (3 months old).

The police are investigating two cases of murder. The husband was nowhere to be found. 

Anyone with information that may know the whereabouts of the husband, is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Modupe Thekiso of the Welkom Serious and Violent Crimes Unit on 083 929 8149 or the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or use the My SAPS App to submit a tip-off.
