Postmasburg SAPS FCS Unit requests public assistance in solving a rape case

POSTMASBURG - The SAPS Family Violence, Children and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit are investigating a case of rape following the alleged rape of a 26-year-old female victim in Postmasburg on Thursday, 13 April 2023.

Preliminary investigations indicates that the victim was on her way to work when she was accosted by the suspect brandishing a knife. He demanded a cigarette but she gave him money out of fear as she was a non-smoker.

The suspect made further advances that included raping the victim in the nearby bushes along the road.

The suspect can only be identified by an identikit compiled by the police.

The police are requesting the public to assist with information that may lead to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect and the investigation of the case.
