Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks)

FREE STATE - A 39-year-old police official attached to Public Order Policing (POP) Unit and his 30-year-old partner were arrested in Hennenman on Thursday, 11 May 2023 by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in Welkom together with Tactical Response Team (TRT) in Free State.

Information was received by the Hawks about a 30-year-old suspect who is dealing in narcotics. The police followed up on the information and executed a search at the suspects’ house. During the search, the police discovered 15 mandrax tablets and a scale.

The suspects are expected to appear in court today, 12 May 2023.
