Limpopo organised crime unit apprehend one suspect and seize drugs worth thousands of rands in Polokwane

POLOKWANE - A 43-year-old suspect was arrested by the Limpopo Provincial Organised Crime Investigations Unit (OCI) and Crime Intelligence Narcotics Team in Polokwane in the morning of Friday 19 May 2023 after he was found in possession of drugs with an estimated value of R10, 000.00.

Police received a tip-off about suspect dealing in drugs at a house in Hoog street, Polokwane.The information was operationalised by members of the Organised Crime Investigations unit in collaboration with Crime Intelligence Narcotics Team who strategically positioned themselves and raided the given address. Upon searching the premises, police found 160 pieces of Rock drugs and 14 sachets of Cat drugs worth the estimated street value of R10 000-00. The suspect's motor vehicle, a Ford Figo was also confiscated as part of an investigation.

The Provincial Commissioner of South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe praised the teams involved in riding the Province of drugs.

The suspect will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Monday 22 May 2023 facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
