POLOKWANE - Junior Commissioner debate by various learners from 10 stations and 24 Schools within the Waterberg District, took place at Bela-Bela multi purpose community hall on Monday, 16 February 2026. Learners came prepared and up to the task to advocate for the development and nurturing of leadership capacity, skills and mentoring of young people in communities. To show that transparency was there, adjudicators were sourced from various stakeholders such as The Department of Education, Department of transport and community safety, Safe hub, Aletuke, Sirite urban farming under Department of agriculture. After a long day of engagement on the phenomenon, adjudicators came up with the following five learners who emerged victorious: * Junior District Commissioner Tshegofatso Setlare from Groenvlei Secondary school. * Junior District Deputy District Commissioner: Visible Policing Kim Makhalima from Weenen combined school. * Junior District Commander: Detective Ntombo Enzokuhle from Groenvlei secondary school . * Junior District Commander: Support Metja Thindisa from Waterberg High school. * Junior District Commander: MIC and Coordinator Aisha Abbas from Hebron Model C school.
In closing, the Waterberg District community policing chairperson Mrs Hellen Nkanyane thanked and appreciated all the efforts made by the organising committee and applauded all the learners for participating in this important initiative and looking forward to seeing them succeed all the way.
