A tip-off leads to suspects nabbed with house-breaking implements and explosive devices

WELKOM - Members of the K9 Unit were off duty when they received information about suspects with explosive devices and housebreaking implements.

On 25 May 2023 at 18:30, the police searched the house and found explosives, different display phones and house breaking implements.

A preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects can be connected to the safe of a clothing store in Welkom CBD that was bombed.

Three suspects aged between 24 and 46 were arrested. The three suspects are facing charges related to illegal possession of explosives, possession of suspected stolen properties, possession of housebreaking implements, and charges related to the Immigration Act.

The suspects will appear in the Welkom Magistrate Court on Monday 29 May 2023.
