POLOKWANE - The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Tuinplaas under the Waterberg District, was recognised for its dedication to school safety during an Excellence Awards event hosted by the Waterberg Department of Basic Education.

The auspicious occasion was held on Wednesday, 28 February 2024, at Jagbaan Lodge outside Mokopane, spearheaded by the District Manager Dr Madela.

Warrant Officer Tlhotse, Warrant Khwinana, and Sergeant Kekana represented SAPS Tuinplaas, and were awarded with a certificate of excellence and a trophy for their efforts to protect students and ensure safe educational environments. In addition, the recognition highlighted the collaboration between law enforcement and educational institutions to address safety concerns, potentially involving initiatives like increased police presence, safety awareness programs, or intervention strategies to prevent violence and ensure a secure learning atmosphere for children.
