Harrismith: The Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team engaged in a self-initiated effort to fight substance abuse and deter drug peddlers.

On the 19 March 2021, the team went to Khalanyoni near Harrismith following information of someone selling drugs. The alleged suspect was intercepted whilst selling drugs around town.  Four pieces of rocks drug valued at R400 and 40 satched of nyaope valued at R2000 as well as cash were found and seized.

The 29-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear before Harrismith Magistrates’ court soon facing charge of possession of drugs.
