Media Statement KEISKAMMAHOEK - The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has condemned the gruesome attack and killing of two elderly citizens in Keiskammahoek by a close relative. The incident occurred on Saturday 08 July 2023 in their homestead at Cata Location outside Keiskammahoek where a 73 and 83-year-old citizens were allegedly assaulted to death. The Police were summoned to the crime scene and quickly began with the initial investigation. Police discovered that the elderly citizens were assaulted by an axe. The suspect was arrested by the community members and the dangerous weapon he allegedly used was confiscated by Police. A case of murder has been opened for further investigation. The 28-year-old suspect will appear at the Keiskammahoek Magistrate Court on Monday 10 July 2023. Ends
