Vigilant Beaufort West Visible police members ensured that two suspected drug pedlars and dealers are behind bars following their arrest early this morning whilst travelling through their town. The members were assisted by the Central Karoo K-9 and investigation will be conducted by our Provincial Detectives (OCI-Narcotics) Just after midnight, the members who was patrolling the main entrance and exit routes to and from Beaufort-West spotted the suspicious vehicle, a Toyota LVD and pulled it over. With the search that ensued, members discovered sixteen (16) bundles of dagga that were concealed and tied to the chassis and petrol tank of the vehicle. The find to the estimated value of R112 760.00 was seized and handed in as evidence. Subsequent to the find, both occupants, men aged 28-and-38-years respectively, were arrested on the spot. The duo who are in custody face a charge of dealing in Drugs (Dagga). They are scheduled to appear in the Beaufort-West magistrates’ court tomorrow, Monday, 18 September 2017. Police management in the Western Cape commended those members involved in the bust and reiterate the importance of our commitment to increase patrols on our main entrance routes to curb the distribution of drugs and other illicit goods to towns within the Western Cape Province.
