POLOKWANE - The Provincial Intervention Team has successfully arrested thirteen suspects aged between 21 and 46 for various offences during an ongoing Operation Shanela II conducted in Naboomspruit, Waterberg District, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from contravention of the Immigration Act, dealing in drugs, smoking dagga in a public space, drinking liquor in public, and selling liquor without a licence.

Vehicle checkpoints, stop-and-search operations were intensified during the high-density Operation Shanela in an effort to create a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

The suspects have already started appearing before the Naboomspruit Magistrate’s Court for various offences, while others have paid admission-of-guilt fines.
