Suspect face charges for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition

CAPE TOWN - Efforts to rid our streets of the illegal possession of firearms yielded success when members of the Boland K9 Unit arrested an adult male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Eike Street, Cloetesville on Friday morning.

The members were busy with crime prevention operations when they acted on information and searched a premises situated in Eike Street. The members confiscated a 38 special revolver with 13 rounds of ammunition.

In an unrelated intervention members of Cloetesville SAPS proceeded to and searched a premises in Primrose Street, Cloetesville where they arrested an adult male for the illegal possession of ammunition. While conducting a search of the premises the members found the ammunition inside the house.

The suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ court on Monday.
