POLOKWANE - A 34-year-old Foreign National male believed to be a Spaza Shop owner was shot dead at Ndhambi village under Giyani policing area on Wednesday 25 October 2023 at about 20:00. Police were summoned at Nkhensani hospital and on their arrival found a Medical Practitioner who pointed out that the deceased sustained gunshot wounds on the upper body resulting in the sudden death. Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was shot by unknown suspects while walking to his home after closing his Spaza Shop at about 20:00. Afterwards, the victim called his brother who transported him to a local clinic and was later transferred to Nkhensani hospital where he passed on upon arrival. The deceased was positively identified as Mubarak Kamal, Ethiopian National. The motive of the incident is unknown at the moment and police investigations are underway. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has directed the police to work around the clock to ensure apprehension of those involved in the senseless killing.
