Drug operations ongoing in KwaZulu-Natal

DURBAN - Police operations to root out drug trafficking in the province are proceeding in earnest. This follows an operation that was conducted on Thursday afternoon at a lodge situated on Dr Pixley kaSeme Street.

The team entered the lodge and a 53-year-old man was found attempting to dispose of a black bag that was in his possession. Inside the bag, police found 2070 grams of methcathinone, 55 grams of crystal meth, 25 grams of cocaine powder and 20 grams of rock cocaine. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is R475 000-00.

Another 27-year-old was found at the same premises in possession of 31,10 grams of methcathinone. The recovered drugs are valued at R6000-00. Both suspects are appearing before the Durban Magistrate’s Court for possession and dealing in drugs.
