WESTERN CAPE - The Western Cape Provincial Hijacking Task Team is seeking the assistance of the public to locate a group of males involved in a business robbery and attempted murder in Nyanga on Monday, 12 June 2023.

Reports suggest that the men entered the shopping centre, pretending to be customers, threatening the staff and robbed them at gunpoint of cash.

As the suspects fled the scene, they noticed a patrol vehicle from Nyanga SAPS at the entrance with four occupants. They reacted and fired numerous gunshots at the police members, seriously injuring three of them. The members were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The suspects who fled the scene are yet to be arrested.

We appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who can shed light on the whereabouts of the suspects to kindly contact the investigating officer Lt Col Adrian Pretorius on 082 777 8499 or alternatively call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
