SASOLBURG - The body of an unknown African male was found floating in the Vaalriver and the police seek public assistance in tracing the next of kin.

On Thursday, 16 November 2023 at about 10:30 a passer-by reported to the police regarding a body floating in the Vaalriver.

The members attended to the complaint and on arrival they noticed an unknown African male estimated to be between 70 and 75 of age, wearing a brown pull over, blue overall jacket, black trouser and red t-shirt floating on the river. The deceased had a small beard, with two silver round earrings and one of his pinkie fingers is amputated.

The police request that anyone who may know anyone who matches this description or who has a missing family member must please contact Lt Colonel Jacob Dichechane on 082 466 7939.
