Joint intelligence driven operations leads to arrest of suspects and recovery of suspected stolen goods in Giyani

POLOKWANE - The members of the South African Police Service in Limpopo reaffirms their commitment to a safer festive season, showcasing their dedication through intensified operations.  On Thursday 16 November 2023, an Intelligence driven operation by the Detectives led to the arrest of three suspects aged between 28 and 33 in Giyani for possession of properties believed to be have been stolen during burglary at a furniture store in Giyani CBD.

The member received valuable information about the whereabouts of the suspects who committed business burglary last month in October, where items valued at thousands of rands were stolen. The members  proceeded to the suspects' houses in Jim-Nghalalume and Gon'on'o villages and on arrival, they conducted a search which resulted in the discovery of various goods that included;  refrigerator, plasma TV, music system, vacuum cleaner, cellphones and other electrical appliances valued at thousands of rands.

Further investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of the third suspect at Risinga View who was also found in possession of the other stolen items.

The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended this team of members for the meticulous investigation which resulted in the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen properties.

"We are committed to protecting the citizens of this province and their properties. This should send a strong message to those who are still contemplating on committing crime that we will hunt them down to face the consequences of their actions," said Lieutenant General Hadebe

The three suspects will appear in the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 November 2023, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen properties.
