Vioolsdrift Border police arrest a suspect for illegal dealing in drugs

KIMBERLEY - During routine checks at the Vioolsdrift Port of Entry on Wednesday, 03 January 2024 at 20:00,  members searched a truck and recovered refuse bags that contained 21Kg of compressed dagga with an estimated street value of R250 000-00 at the back of the truck.

A 32-year-old suspect was arrested for illegal dealing in drugs. The suspect will appear in court soon.

The Namakwa District Commissioner, Brigadier Schalk Andrews applauded the members for their vigilant approach in managing to disrupt the movement of drugs  across our borders and reiterated that law enforcement agencies at  ports of entry remain ready and able to enforce and maintain the law within our borders.
