POLOKWANE - The police in Vhembe District arrested two suspects in connection with a series of business robberies that were committed last year 2023 between November and December at Saselamani policing precinct. The duo were arrested on Thursday, 04 January 2024.

The two suspects were reportedly targeting Spaza shops belonging to foreign nationals and allegedly committed six business robberies in Saselamani policing precinct.

On Wednesday, 03 January 2024, police received information about the location of the suspects responsible for the business robberies.

A joint operation was conducted by the members of the Vhembe Trio Crimes Task Team, Malamulele, and Saselemani Detectives to trace the suspects on Thursday, 04 January 2024 between 02:00 until 17:00.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of the two suspects at Mbokota and Chabani villages.

During the arrest, a white Toyota Bakkie that is believed to have been utilized during the commission of the crimes was also confiscated.

The suspects aged 22 and 30 will appear before the Saselamani Magistrate court soon facing charges of business robberies.

Police investigations are continuing.
