Media Statement KAGISANONG - A 55-year-old foreign national male was arrested for Bribery on Friday 19 January 2024. Crime Prevention Unit members were busy with Operation Shanela actions and during execution of their duties they have arrested three undocumented persons. The 55-year-old foreign national arrived at the police station and offered to bribe the officers in exchange for releasing the undocumented persons. The members made record of the advances and immediately arrested the suspect. A case of Bribery was opened and the suspect was detained in police custody. The District Commissioner of Mangaung Metro Major-General Arthur Peter Adams commended the adherence of police officials to South African Police Service Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics. "This is the quality and calibre of members we should cherish, support and appreciate. Sergeant Thato Elijah Rammile and his shift at Kagisanong Police Station are a shining example of integrity beyond reproach", said the General. The suspect and arrested undocumented persons will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Monday 22 January 2022. Ends
